WELCOME TO FRIENDS OF THE AVON VALLEY

Friends of the Avon Valley is not a formal group, we are a collection of likeminded individuals with a shared passion for the beauty and wildlife of this steep sided, wooded river valley in the heart of the South Hams in Devon. We also share the desire to protect the valley from over development and  any intrusion that might adversely impact on its fragile ecology and rare and endangered wildlife.

We've set up this website to celebrate the beauty the valley and to inform and educate others about the abundance of wildlife to be found there, much of it rare and endangered and in urgent need of protection.

There will be information about its history and ecology along with the work being done by various groups and individuals to protect the valley's fragile habitats and to enhance its bio-diversity.
